MATT’S TRANSLATION WORKFLOW SYSTEM – WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT?

We value the trust clients place in our translation services and we aim to live up to your expectations. Our process differs greatly from traditional translation providers, in which clients are normally left out, as we believe in open communication with our clients.

Engaging you throughout the translation process demonstrates the value we provide and helps keep the timeline on track. It can also save you time and money since it helps you make timely informed decisions.

Here’s how our translation workflow system works – and how you (the client) are involved.

• Send us your file(s).
• We prepare each file free of charge for the translation process by extracting the text, removing duplicates and analysing the word count.
• We then present the updated version to you in an easy to understand way, along with a quotation.
• Complete a project brief and markup a section for the sample. Please see T&C Clause B8
• Next we pick the best available translator (or translation team) in your field of specialisation and agree with you and the translator the timeline for this stage.
• Finally we deliver you the sample – and continue upon full payment.

• After the translation you are given the option to review the file(s) and suggest any amends.
• If separate proofreading isn’t part of the agreed process, the file goes back to the translator for corrections.

• Next we look for the best available reviser (or editor if necessary) in your field of specialisation and agree with you and the reviser the timeline for this stage.
• The reviser compares the source text with the target text.
• The reviser completes MATT’s quality assurance list and ensures the translation is of a high standard.

• For the second and final round, we ask you to look at the revised translation and make any comments.
• If separate proofreading isn’t part of the agreed process, the file goes back to the reviser for corrections.

• This step is only applicable if there’s no proofreading included in the project.
• After the revision process, we convert the text into the original layout (including any duplicates) and send it to you.
• Finally we update your existing memory database or create you a new one.

• We then select the best available proofreader in your field of specialisation and agree with you and the proofreader the timeline for this stage.
• The proofreader checks the text that’s in front of him (monolingual proofreading) – and compares some of the target text with the source text if necessary.

• Once the proofreading process is complete we implement any corrections in the already formatted file and deliver it to you.
• Finally we update your existing memory database or create you a new one.

What to expect with every translation project

*Please note that free proofreading is solely provided with a marketing translation order. For any other translation or publication material it can be purchased for a separate fee.

**Since every translator (reviser, editor and proofreader included) has been assigned a unique ID, you may request the use of the same translator if you have completed a project with us before. You will not be automatically reassigned the same team and you must specifically mention the IDs of the translators you desire. We will then discuss their availability for your current project.
